Master Velez was trained by Israel Velez (father) in early years (7-15 years old) . Father was raised in Newark New Jersey. He learned how to fight on the streets of Newark. In mid twenties he trained with a Goju and Tae kwon do instructor.
Master Israel Velez III is a certified Martial Arts instructor. He holds a blackbelt in Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu and is the founder of the Velez Jujitsu system. In addition he also holds black belts in Shotokan Karate, Kickboxing, Freestyle Karate, Kenpo, Kempo, Freestyle Jujitsu, Tang Soo Do, and Tae Kwon Do. In College he bench pressed 250 Lbs. for 10 reps and maxed out at 340 Lbs. He has studied and trained in all aspects of the fight game. To be a complete fighter I train in Stand up fighting, submission ,wrestling and boxing . This is what the American Modern Jujitsu style represents.
Master Israel Velez III was named 2004 Jiu Jitsu Insructor of the year by the United States Jiu Jitsu Alliance . Master Velez is also on the Board of Representatives for the United States Jiu Jitsu Alliance . Master Velez is a Representative of the International Tinh Vo Dao Federation . Master Velez is the new President of the Diversified League of Martial Artists. Master Velez has been promoted to Master in American Modern Jujitsu , Freestyle Jujitsu , Japanese Jujitsu , Tinh Vo Dao , Freestyle Karate , Mixed Martial Arts Style , Aiki Jujitsu and Karate Jujitsu .
